Lexie Shabel founded the Breast Wishes Fund in 2010, with a mission to make breast cancer treatment choices widely available. Also a documentary film director and producer, Lexie began filming “the ME film” the day she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and says to the camera, “I’m the one who made this cancer; I’m the one who’s going to make it go away.”
Representing the fourth generation diagnosed with breast cancer in her family, Lexie was motivated to seek a new paradigm of treatment. She embarked on a very personal and transformative path toward overall health, addressing her cancer on her own terms for eight years, recently utilizing a personal vaccine. Her TEDx Talk “When did our Breasts Become an Accessory” offers details of her journey.
